Introduction

The Avanti Foundation is a Non-Profit based out of California, USA with the focus on nurturing Indic traditions and values. In partnership with Shaivite.Org, we are bringing you the first of its kind “Kashmir Fusion Music Festival” called Graz-Gaash. The artists from 5 different states of India will join hands with Kashmiri Musicians to present classical, folk and popular music from across these schools in a single unified thread. With this event We plan to delight the audiences with a new experience.

Project

Theme:

  • Gaash - Light or the ability to see. This is the theme for 2024. The event will be called
  • Graz - In kashmiri Graz stands for loud sound or roaring music.

Objective:

Awareness drive with a focus on delivering musical delight to the fortunate and the gift of sight to those in need.

Goal:

In 2024 we plan to facilitate promotion of various hospitals in Jammu & Kashmir that specialize in Eye Care and Eye Surgery, including free of cost services for socio-economically challenged individuals particularly Kashmiri Pandits who suffered exodus from the valley and cannot afford such care and surgeries. We plan to promote the following initiatives.

RamaKrishna Mission Hospital and KMECT Collaboration: The eye hospital has an aim to provide 2-5 thousand surgeries a year. Avanti Foundation USA will raise awareness in the US. Avanti Foundation is partnering with KMECT and Ramakrishna Mission in Jammu to raise the needed funds. The hospital will be co-located with the existing Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, in Jammu.

Event Details:

This awareness event is organized by Avanti Foundation, Shaivite Org and Kerala Sangam. We will be inviting nonprofit organizations in the US like Mount Madonna Institute (Gilroy, CA) KoshurRaag, Kashmir Hindu Foundation and similar organizations to sponsor a memorable musical fusion night.

What to expect?

To our guests we will offer a transcendental experience of musical diversity of Indian Regional Music and Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal and Instrumental) blended with Kashmiri Music. We are inviting several regional music schools, disciplines and gharanas from India for a musical collaboration that will awe the audience.

Date: Sep 14th, 2024 Social Mixer: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Musical Performances: 8:00 pm - 11 pm Venue: Fremont City Event Center, Fremont, California. Attire: Formal and Indian Traditional Attire

Ticketing:

The entry ticket will be charged at a nominal fee of $35 which will include a Kashmiri fusion dinner from India. Guests will have access to pre-paid bar service.

Artists: Madan Oak (Santoor Maestro), Anshoo Tikoo Zutshi (Kashmiri Music Lead), Manisha Pathak (Bihari Music Lead), Jay Nair (Malyali Music Lead), Nikhil Pandya (Tabla Maestro) Val Narayanan (Chenda Drums Lead) and several others artists are working to present an ensemble of music.
